X-Plane HMS Queen Elizabeth (R08) 1.0. This file is to replace the default USS Nimitz aircraft carrier with the Royal Navy's new carrier due to enter service in 2020. Designed around the F-35B Lightning, but with significant rotary wing operations including anti-submarine, commando, ground attack and support helicopter. The model includes animated radar scanners, aircraft lifts and helicopter rotors, and features static aircraft, crew members and the correct deck support vehicles and equipment. See the 'read me' file for installation. I recommend the excellent AOA Simulations payware F-35B which allows you to master the unique SRVL (Shipborne Rolling Vertical Landing) technique and exciting ski-jump take-off. By MRL (Mal).

X-Plane Red Sands Forts 1.0. The Maunsell Forts are armed towers built in the Thames and Mersey estuaries during the Second World War to help defend the United Kingdom. They were operated as army and navy forts, and named after their designer, Guy Maunsell. Red Sands Fort (U6) is at the mouth of the Thames Estuary. The towers had been connected by metal grate walk-ways. In 1959 consideration was given to refloating the Red Sands Fort and bringing the towers ashore but the costs were prohibitive. In the early 21st century, in response to proposals to demolish the fort, a group called Project Redsands was formed to try to preserve it. It is the only fort that can be visited safely from a platform in between the legs of one of the towers. They all have solid tops and all of them can be landed on. The gun tower rings/railings (or whatever they are) are not solid in X-Plane so you can still actually land on these towers, even if you are touching these rings. The other towers have nice wooden decking which I thinks gives better visual clues for landing. It is possible to spawn on the control Tower Fort using ICAO code EGZ1. The models are GPL licensed freeware so you can modify and redistribute them however you want to. Change the orientation, position it somewhere else, include it in your own scenery distributions, whatever. No need to even ask my permission. Readme file included. By John Bray.

X-Plane 11 HMS Illustrious (87) 1.1.0. HMS Illustrious was the lead ship of her class of aircraft carriers built for the Royal Navy before World War II. Her first assignment after completion and working up was with the Mediterranean Fleet, in which her aircraft's most notable achievement was sinking one Italian battleship and badly damaging two others during the Battle of Taranto in late 1940. The carrier participated in the early stages of the Battle of Okinawa until mechanical defects arising from accumulated battle damage became so severe she was ordered home early for repairs in May 1945. The war ended while she was in the dockyard and the Admiralty decided to modify her for use as the Home Fleet's trials and training carrier. In this role she conducted the deck-landing trials for most of the British postwar naval aircraft in the early 1950s. This model substitutes the original US Nimitz found in X-Plane. Instructions on how to do this are contained in the included documentation. By Vasco Ribeiro.

X-Plane Lars Hoyer Vehicles 1.0. These 37 car and truck objects were originally made by Lars Hoyer back in the stone age. They were packaged into a library for use in FS2004 in 2006 by Steve Ziegler; I haven no idea when Lars made the originals. I am unable to contact Lars, but since he made them for anyone to use in freeware scenery, I'm guessing he'd have no objection to me converting them for use in X-Plane. X-Plane Bubble Car 1.0. Several microcars of the 1950s and 1960s, mostly produced in Germany, were nicknamed bubble cars. This was due to the aircraft-style bubble canopies of cars like the Messerschmitt KR175, Messerschmitt KR200 and the FMR Tg500. Other microcars, such as the Isetta, also had a bubble-like appearance. This static X-Plane model is night lit and can be placed in any scenery. Made in SketchUp 2017 with photographic textures and converted for X-Plane using Marginal's SketchUp2XPlane Utility. To be able to see this object, you will either have to create a new scenery, or edit an existing one (in both cases, this file would need to be added to the scenery's 'objects' folder). Exact production figures are unknown, but it was over 250,000 and some estimates place the number closer to half a million. X-Plane Hunter Engine Change 1.0.1. Plane or scenery? Well it's a bunch of parts dangled around an invisible plane. Starts in cockpit so go to external views. It depicts the Rolls Royce Avon with re-heat being installed in WB188 prior to its world record flight in 1953. No copyright on this so feel free to use the included parts. Chop the reheat section out to get to a standard Avon. Should be quite easy for the scenery chaps to mod the OBJ files. By Ray Hill.
