FS98 Pegasus-XL Booster Rocket. The Pegasus-XL Satellite Launching Vehicle is a 3-stage solid fuel booster rocket, launched at 39000 ft altitude from the Lockheed L-1011-100 "Stargazer" mothership, to place satellites into low earth orbit. The rocket model in this release is flyable in FS98, for high-altitude atmospheric flight. It employs the 1st stage 132400 flb thrust Orion 50 SXL rocket motor, which in reality brings the Pegasus XL to a speed of about 4900 kt at 179000 ft altitude. In FS98, the Pegasus XL Booster model is capable of controllable flight upto 2644 kt at approximately 110,000 ft altitude, which are the speed and altitude limits of FS98 operation. When flying the Stargazer with Pegasus XL Booster, you can switch to this model to emmulate launching and flying the Pegasus XL Booster Rocket at 39000 ft. Includes Custom rocket sounds from SoundBible.com, and Source AFX, PCX, and R8 files. High-quality textures by Udo Entenmann. By Stephan Scholz.
