146 Professional X-Plane Update: Key news for those waiting on the custom FMC. The upcoming v1.2 update will include a variety of fixes and changes, including further improvements to the TMS, but most importantly it introduces a several new navigation options to choose from! In addition to the existing X-Plane 11 FMC, you will now be able to choose from custom UFMC (complete with LNAV/VNAV autopilot integration and performance calculations), the always-popular RealityXP GTN or nothing - for those of you who prefer the classic VOR and NDB navigation for which the 146 was originally designed. We're adding some voice commands to Pushback Express for MSFS to control the ground service vehicles via voice. There are also some pretty good improvements coming to Pushback Express shortly so it matches up with the upcoming Fly By Wire A32NX Project version. One cool thing is we figured out a way to increase the resolution so the app looks 10 times more sharp and crisp now, so the UI is drastically prettier. We also added night lighting and an opacity slider and there's some other nice stuff to make PBE more realistic, too. At any rate, if you're a native French speaker, can you please translate these to speech commands to French for us please. This way you can issue the commands in your language in PBE. We have posted a new Dev Update today covering the latest work and pre-release build of the 146 Professional MSFS. Well worth a read and there is a bunch of new screenshots for you to see that demo the latest work and features. They include but aren't limited to Full MSFS checklist support, New EFB features, New Variants including cargo variant door and associated liveries such as Cobham and Cello, new Cockpit features including 8k textures and cup holders, sun visors and seats and of course the FMS integration. Dear IVAO Family, For some time it has been the Network's wish to be able to provide you with transparent and regular updates of our plans for, and the progression, of IVAO's infrastructure and software/web systems. Following a restructure of the Development Operations Department we were able to appoint new Directors and Team Managers. Yannick and Frederico have assumed the positions of Director and Assistant Director respectively. The main focus of their first two weeks was to meet with the new Team Managers and finalise a roadmap for our infrastructure and software/web systems, changing the landscape in around 12 months. The aim is to provide you with updates every 3 months, on what to expect to be released during that period and an update on what has happened since the previous quarter. So, without further ado, here goes… What is planned for Q1 of 2022? World Servers It is no hidden fact that our current SHARD servers do not have the capability to withstand a tremendous amount of connections to IVAO. December of last year saw a deficiency during the Crowded Skies event that meant we were unable to achieve the figures we had wished. The reasoning behind this issue is that IVAO has no ownership to develop the current source code of the SHARD servers. Our dedicated Developers have now created our own servers, called ‘World Servers’, that will enable better stability, more connections and lay the foundations to be able to implement more enhanced features in the future. The World Server will be cross compatible on release with the latest versions of IvAc, IvAp, Altitude and Aurora but the introduction of new features, later in the year, will see support for IvAc and IvAp versions closed at a later date. The project is under Alpha testing at the moment and is due for release, to all members, by the end of March. Aurora for Windows Aurora was responsible for 85% of ATC connections in December 2021, being the most popular of the ATC clients compatible with IVAO. We will shortly be releasing our ALPHA version, currently used by IVAO Staff, as the latest available BETA to all members after which we will not be implementing any new features to Aurora for Windows, instead focusing on stabilizing this latest BETA to remove any existing bugs and eradicate crashes. Anyone who does have an issue with Aurora for Windows should contact our friendly User Support Team by speaking one-on-one with them on the Family Discord, posting in the forum or by emailing devops@ivao.aero where a member of the team will gladly assist. Aurora for Mac/Linux It goes without saying that Aurora for Linux and Mac has been a calling for some time now, we are pleased to advise that Aurora for Mac/Linux is being actively developed to achieve the same key aspects of Aurora for Windows. The project is under development and expected for a network BETA release by August. Voice ATIS A new feature for IVAO, the Network will see the introduction of Voice ATIS continue its development. Voice ATIS will enable Pilots to be able to get the latest weather, runway and other ATIS information for their departure and arrival airports. Voice ATIS will only be compatible with IVAO’s latest offering of software, meaning it will only be received by Pilots using Altitude and only transmitted by Controllers who are using Aurora. The project is under development and expected for a network release by June. What is left to come for the rest of 2022? IVAO has much more to offer to it’s Family in 2022. Deemed “the year of change” by the Senior Leadership Team, we aim to see the departure of TeamSpeak 2 forever and the smooth landing of our new voice systems including Voice UNICOM. Parallel 42 has announced a new scenery under development for MSFS 2020. They describe it as your home base for bush flying in Utah, Mexican Mountain (42MX). This is a small (1900 foot long) and challenging runway with difficult approaches, but lots of parking and custom details around the field itself. It's been a busy month since the release of the Low N’ Slow Fox2 variant in our previous update! In fact, anyone with a keen eye would have picked up a hint of what’s to come in the final image of that post. The //42 Scenes department has been busy at work with the newest addition to perfectly placed hubs in the popular bush camping hot spots. For our next release, we provide you with a home base for bush flying in Green River, Utah, welcome to Mexican Mountain (42MX)! Our goal with these scenes is to continue bringing value to your time flying FF/F2. Busplane Campout (42BC) and Mexican Mountain (42MX) are built to serve as hubs for available smaller campouts that will surround them. They have been designed with plenty of parking and camping areas to stage up for your multiplayer adventures. Mexican Mountain (42MX) We were lucky enough to work with real bush pilots in the region and were provided with amazing drone footage for reference material in the construction of this strip. Located in Green River, Utah, the region features brightly colored cliffs, buttes, ridges, alcoves, and pinnacles that dominate the landscape with elevations ranging from 4,700 feet in the southeast to 6,900 feet on Mexican Mountain. In comparison to many other mountains, Mexican Mountain truly is…out there, the views are tremendous, & you’ll have plenty of places to practice STOL landings nearby and you’re a short hop away from Moab. Features Runway: 1900 ft long x 40 ft wide dirt runway. Slopes uphill slightly to the west. Approach Considerations: Tall trees on both sides of the runway present a hazard when landing to the east. Typically land to the west and depart to the east. Caution RC plane in the vicinity. Amenities: Campgrounds and fire rings. Please don’t leave food out, bears were reported in the area. Windsock: Yes. Located east of the runway, next to the information sign. Multiple runway objects and hazards contain collision boxes. (Careful tail spinners!)
