As you know Wizzsim has not been updated for a while.

 

Basically I am getting married which has caused a great deal of stress for both myself and my partner, lets just put it this way it can only happen to us everything that can go wrong has and when I mean everything I mean our wedding planner, our cake maker, the venue, our DJ have all let us down, half the guest's cant come even though we gave a year in advanced notice. We now have just over a month too fix and sort out our wedding from complete disaster. 

 

Getting Married is stressful enough but when everything goes wrong so near to the wedding the stress is almost unbearable

 

Wizzsim will be updated in due cause but I wanted to explain why and now you know.

  • DC Designs Concorde Returns to the MSFS Skies

    She's back. After tremendous work by CodenameJack, and Concorde users "LameLefty" and "RESETXPDR" on the Microsoft forums, all of the engine and fuel issues have been diagnosed and fixed. The updates will be sent to Just Flight and the Marketplace today to ensure Concorde gets back into the skies as quickly as possible for all owners. I should also add that Jorg Neumann at Microsoft has been hugely helpful in talking over what went wrong. We were able to find a way to improve the communication between Asobo Studios and third-party developers prior to Sim Update releases, so that all developers know more about what has actually been changed within the sim *before* the final update rolls out. The plan is that with a detailed Changelog in advance of Sim Update releases (but while still in beta), devs can rapidly locate and diagnose issues and prepare their updates with more accuracy, instead of wondering what's a new sim-bug and what's a genuine fix or change each time the updates roll out. This idea is a WIP, as it would require Asobo to lock down their code earlier to give developers more time to make changes, but Jorg liked the idea and hopefully it will become a thing in the future. Concorde's update should reach users today or tomorrow, depending on where you purchased Concorde. Source
  • Simworks Studios Announces Progress On Kodiak For MSFS

    It's been some time since we posted our progress on the Kodiak. Well, here we are! The VC is in the skilled hands of the texture artist and this is how it's shaping up so far! After the base work has been done, we will begin adding stencils and stickers to close the VC out. From an overall progress standpoint, the aircraft's systems are almost completed. Exterior and VC are getting their final detailing pass and the focus is on the flight model, checklists and sounds. Speaking of sounds, SimAcoustics were able to record a real Kodiak recently, so we will provide you with authentic, high-quality audio using Wwise! Last but not least, we decided to break the Kodiak into two separate packages: wheeled and amphibian. The wheeled version will retail at €30 on SWS and cover the wheeled variants of the aircraft. The initial release will contain the Tundra, Summit, Skydive, cargo and mixed cargo/pax interiors. Externally, we will offer standard and tundra tyres, with a cargo pod option. We are aiming for a late July to mid-August release for this. The amphibian will retail for €15 and release after the Wheeled variant and the Xbox version of MSFS. As this will add wake effects and (we anticipate) better hydroplaning behaviour, we will need the extra time to work on the flotation aspects of the Kodiak (as well as the Zenith). The floatplane will feature the Tundra, cargo, mixed and Summit interiors. Source

    Here is some news from Ben Supnik over at Laminar Research and their just released 11.53RC1 update for X-Plane 11: Departures and Arrivals, Lua Bug Fixes, G2 Controllers, and Stuff Every week for the last ten weeks I've thought "I should really write a dev blog post" and then...not done that. This isn't because all is quiet on the Western front - on the contrary, everyone on the team has been really, really busy, and the dev blog is never the loudest thing shouting for attention. But now we have a new RC available, so here we are. Mi Memory Es Tu Memory 11.53 fixes one bug, and it's a rare bug, but it's "exciting" when it happens. It turns out that if a Lua plugin requests a really huge amount of memory, instead of saying "no," X-Plane gives the Lua program someone else's memory. This is not good! If the bank gave you someone else's money, that'd be a bad bookkeeping error. This bug is too, and the consequences of the bug are typically "really insane stuff happens later," which is hard to sort out. The plugin that crashes may not be the plugin that requested the memory. X-Plane 11.53 fixes this - large allocations that cannot be fulfilled are denied, which should cause the Lua plugin to halt the affected script without destabilizing the system. Source

  • VSKYLABS Updates A22-LS And Icon A5

    The VSKYLABS Aeroprakt A22-LS Project was updated earlier this week to v1.07. The update included interaction addition, which is a built-in binding capability of the braking lever to a Joystick axis. Quite useful for those who are focusing on Joystick hardware controls and would want to fly the aircraft with the *real* feel. Braking in the A22 is made by a single lever which activates both brakes symmetrically (similar to the braking system in the Flight Design CTLS aircraft). Now, with the use of the built-in axis assignment, it can be done not only in VR/on-screen/switch/button... but also with the use of a dedicated Joystick axis. More information regarding this update can be found in the project's main pages (update log / POH), also in the VSKYLABS support forums. The VSKYLABS A22 is expecting a major upcoming update, which will include the addition of a new variant: A Floats equipped Foxbat! Update will take place in the near future.   • LatinVFR Global Vehicle Traffic Update Released

    We just released update 1.01 of Global Vehicle Traffic. Open the contrail app and allow for the update to run. Important notes: 1-Increased diversity in all regions. In Europe increased the amount of compact vehicles, reducing the amount of trucks or lorries. In the other regions added more regular vehicles and thus reducing the amount of trucks. 2-We removed some vehicles from Europe that weren't normal there. Among other small fixes. We heard the feedback and we took note of it. Most importantly the feedback of diversity of vehicles and the reduction of trucks which was the most common was addressed but there is a reason we did not do much diversity. a) Performance might degrade if we increased the amount of vehicles. The vehicles in GVT are higher resolution/detail models than the default, therefore we needed to proceed with caution. The more variations the more textures also and polygons that would be drawn and put into the the sim. We could have gone and added hundreds or maybe thousands of variations but performance was going to be severely degraded. What we just did would allow for more variations and at the same time keep the same performance levels as we had in the version 1.00. b) The issue with trucks and lorries. Reason we did more trucks was because at 500, 1000 feet or above, you will notice more the larger vehicles, in this case trucks, which are more noticeable and helps with the immersion. c) Doing vehicles for certain countries. This would degrade performance because it would increase the texture amount, we decided to go by continent to reduce the performance impact overall. Also the way the FS world is divided as we did in AREX, not many regions are only countries. The French are fortunate enough to have this and South Africa too, but other than that, that' about it.   • IVAO Releases New Datalink with Telex and CPDLC

    IVAO is proud to announce the release of a brand-new Datalink module for its ATC Client: Aurora, a stepping stone in the Air Traffic Control experience for our members. After having released its new ATC Client: Aurora in December 2019 in BETA phase, IVAO did not cease to regularly update the client, allowing for more realism and immersive experience. Previous feature updates included web-based Flight Plan filing, Voice Module, SELCAL, and others. Aurora's latest update will now include another new highly realistic and requested feature: Datalink. The Datalink feature will seamlessly integrate with the Hoppie ACARS system, bringing excellent news for our members using Hoppie enabled aircraft, such as FSLabs’ A3xx series of aircraft. Paving the way for an even more realistic experience through their MCDU/ACARS. The Hoppie integration also constitutes excellent news to our third-party developers who can directly link their own Datalink software to IVAO’s software ecosystem. Our members who are not using a Hoppie-compatible third-party ACARS system will still be able to receive Datalink messages from IVAO’s connected ATC stations through the ATC’s primary active frequency. The new Datalink system consists of two parts: The first part is the Telex, which is a simple messaging system that can be used for controller/pilot and pilot/pilot communication. Telex is not used as an alternative to voice communication. The second part is the CPDLC (Controller Pilot Data Link Communications) is a Controller/pilot communication system used for non urgent communication, that is an alternative to voice communication. A second important feature included with this update is Vertical Profiles. This is also a highly realistic INSET on our ATC client that will enable Controllers to have a transversal view of the active sector, as a means to visualise the vertical separation between traffic. As our software is still in the BETA phase, we continue to heavily depend on our member feedback on bugs and feature requests to ensure our software is more stable and realistic.   • MSFS 2020 April 29th, 2021 Dev Update

    The Microsoft Flight Simulator team has issued their weekly update, but no major news this week. Asobo has released an add-on (extra cost) airplane for the sim, the Top Rudder 103 ultralight. There is also some updates to the SDK. The Top Rudder 103 ultralight plane developed by Asobo Studio came out yesterday and is available for $9.99 in the Marketplace. SDK Update Documentation: We made some changes on the Flight Model section, created a Flights & Missions section, added a page about ice on aircraft models, and updated flightmodel.cfg with new parameters. More to come! Dev Mode: We fixed the "add custom asset group" window which wouldn't close when creating a new non-templated asset group. We fixed the font displayed in the release notes window. The Audio team fixed a shared convolution IR which didn't load in Wwise remote and added Built-in Emitter & Listener cone game-parameters. In the Scenery Editor, we fixed the windsocks with the wrong orientation, and we fixed a char being filtered in taxiway sign content text entry. SimConnect: We added the GEAR_SKIDDING_FACTOR SimVar.
