Message?

As you know Wizzsim has not been updated for a while.

Basically I am getting married which has caused a great deal of stress for both myself and my partner, lets just put it this way it can only happen to us everything that can go wrong has and when I mean everything I mean our wedding planner, our cake maker, the venue, our DJ have all let us down, half the guest's cant come even though we gave a year in advanced notice. We now have just over a month too fix and sort out our wedding from complete disaster.

Getting Married is stressful enough but when everything goes wrong so near to the wedding the stress is almost unbearable

Wizzsim will be updated in due cause but I wanted to explain why and now you know.

  • Update on IndiaFoxtEcho SU-31 For MSFS

Since some have asked, here is a quick update on one of our "side projects", that is the SU-31 - not great news I am afraid. Apart from the fact that the flight model did not meet the expectations of some of the testers, it also turned out that some of the dimensions of the commercial mesh we started from were incorrect - even to a 10% error. This escaped to our initial inspection but it is clearly not acceptable. Apart from that, the plane needs some code rework to comply with Sim Update V standards, some improvement on the textures and badly needs custom sounds for the M-14P engine. Therefore the project has suffered major delays and currently does not comply to our quality standards. On the good side, we have have already reworked the 3D file so that the dimensional error is now below 1%, the textures for the default livery have been fixed and most of the system and control bugs have been fixed. Project is still active and we'll continue working on it. We will try our best not to ship garbage. Source
  • IndiaFoxtEcho Reports Beta 1 Build of T-45C Complete MSFS

We have finally completed the BETA 1 build of the T-45C Goshawk project for Microsoft Flight Simulator, in cooperation with Military Visualizations. We will distribute the Beta version to selected testers during the next few days. Apologies in advance to those who applied for the Beta testing but will not be selected: we have received a lot of applications but for a number of reasons the test will be limited to 25 users. If things go as planned, we should be able to release it around March 1st. Source

  • FlyByWire Simulations Showcases FMS

We wanted to show you how realistic our work-in-progress LNAV algorithm will be, and we found a nice example. While the procedure being showcased has changed a bit since the time the real-life photo was taken, you can see how accurately we model the FMS' behaviour when turns are overshot. This is the kind of detail we obsess over, and you can expect this level of complexity in our entire FMS suite (including VNAV!). Source
  • X-Plane v11.53RC1 News

Here is some news from Ben Supnik over at Laminar Research and their just released 11.53RC1 update for X-Plane 11: Departures and Arrivals, Lua Bug Fixes, G2 Controllers, and Stuff Every week for the last ten weeks I've thought "I should really write a dev blog post" and then...not done that. This isn't because all is quiet on the Western front - on the contrary, everyone on the team has been really, really busy, and the dev blog is never the loudest thing shouting for attention. But now we have a new RC available, so here we are. Mi Memory Es Tu Memory 11.53 fixes one bug, and it's a rare bug, but it's "exciting" when it happens. It turns out that if a Lua plugin requests a really huge amount of memory, instead of saying "no," X-Plane gives the Lua program someone else's memory. This is not good! If the bank gave you someone else's money, that'd be a bad bookkeeping error. This bug is too, and the consequences of the bug are typically "really insane stuff happens later," which is hard to sort out. The plugin that crashes may not be the plugin that requested the memory. X-Plane 11.53 fixes this - large allocations that cannot be fulfilled are denied, which should cause the Lua plugin to halt the affected script without destabilizing the system. Source
  • Frank Dainese Announces Val d'Aosta For X-Plane 11

If this wasn't enough, Frank has also recreated all the villages, plus the entire city of Aosta, along with its monuments and airport (LIMW). The scenery will be compatible with his M.Blanc package, which completes the experience, as well as his Matterhorn Park scenery. The scenery will cover 3500 sq. km and be updated for X-Plane 12 when released. Source
  • Airfoillabs King Air 350 Update 1.5 For X-Plane

Plans for the weekend? We have something for you! Introducing His Majesty the Airfoillabs King Air 350 update 1.5! Dear Friends and followers, we're excited to introduce the Airfoillabs King Air update 1.5 for X-Plane 11. We spent quite a bit of time focusing on the physical model, avionics, performance, and general handling of our airplane. 5th in-line, this update introduces a new Quick Look feature, which allows the Pilot to use predefined views to navigate around the flight deck. We believe that this feature significantly reduces the workload for the pilot during critical phases of the flight. Throughout the preparations of this update, we cooperated with pilots and FI’s to consult the different aspects of the KA350 flight model, in order to give you the immersive experience you're expecting! One of the current KA350 pilots cooperating with us is Chazflyz, the guy behind the YouTube channel, he was kind enough to share his feedback. "The King Air 350 by AirfoilLabs is an authentic replication of the real airplane. As a current King Air 350 pilot, I use this aircraft in X-Plane 11 to stay current with my procedures and checklist usage. The realistic functionality of every switch, button, and lever and full fidelity flight model provide an immersive experience that is unmatched. I highly recommend this airplane in X-Plane 11 to those wanting a legitimate study level turboprop aircraft." More details are available at our website. A big thanks for participation in this update goes to #Chazlyz, to Michal “Dreamer” V., and to the IVAO Czech Republic community.     www.airfoillabs.com

  • CR1 Software Announces Ford Trimotor

CR1 Software has announced that they are working on the famous Ford Trimotor, with versions for MSFS 2020, P3D v4 and v5. The models are 100% complete rebuilds, both sets will have 4AT and 5AT variants as well as military float versions and cargo and airline versions. Release is expected by early September. Air model was built for both sims using the NASA aerodynamic system that we want to use on all of our models as it translates real world data to both sims quite nicely. Also the crew and passengers will be as real looking as real humans and on later patches of the Ford will interact with the player/operator. This feature won't come within the initial release as they have to write the AI code for that to work in the two sims. But for all buyers it will come as a patch at a later date using a real software updating system. The outer skin on this add-on is fully modeled corrugated and NOT textured. Ultimate detail is all Cr1 will ever accept. After the Ford release the Zero will follow very close behind. To our loyal supporters: Hang in there with us, our supporters in the flight sim world. The projects are maturing quickly now that we have our templates built for both sims and soon the pipeline in our development process with flow at twice the speed we have been at until now. We really appreciate the support of all of you over the 22 years with both Simtech Flight Design and now Cr1-Software Ltd. With out our loyal supporters this growth and level of development would not be possible. Keep a close eye on the CR1 YouTube channel and the news section of our web site www.cr1-software.com for updates on this development and future developments that ate already underway.
