As we all know it is a good idea to backup websites. So while I backup wizzsim there will be a delay for new downloads to show on the website. As you may expect wizzsim.com is now 42GB in size so this may take a while. I expect this to be completed tonight. I will announce when the website has been completely backed up. This will not affect the website so you can still use it as normal but do note that new downloads will be delayed for 24 hours.

Kind Regards Matt.

We have just commenced the update process to bring our global customer base up to date with the new PMDG Operations Center 2.0.

PMDG Operations Center 2.0 is a direct replacement for PMDG Operations Center. To receive the update is simple: Simply run Operations Center and as the update propagates globally, you will eventually see the red "Update Available" chip appear and OC1 will offer you the opportunity to install an update. Obviously, yes, you want to install that update. When you do, the update process will handle the rest for you, and you will be left with a shiny, new PMDG Operations Center 2.0.

Some things to know:

  • Transition to PMDG OC2.0 is mandatory for all users.
  • PMDG OC2 is the foundation of future growth, to include eventually all product installation/maintenance/updating.
  • PMDG OC2.0 will be the entry portal for PMDG Global Flight Operations.
  • PMDG OC2.0 is a 64bit program, meaning that you MUST have a 64bit version of windows. (99.24% of the installed windows base is using one so you are probably good here...)
  • PMDG OC2.0 is compatible with FSX, FSX-SE, P3D v3, P3D v4 and will eventually support future MSFS and P3D platforms as well if/when they are released.

So why the update if we didn't add new functionality for you? With this update, we are now able to more easily provide customer micro-updates, livery updates and management, etc. OC1 was a very limited platform that outgrew its original design. PMDG Operations Center 2.0 is a much more well written product that will allow us to securely deliver full products, updates and some components of technical support in order to improve the overall user experience.

PMDG Operations Center 2.0 is the bedrock upon which Global Flight Operations will run, so we are excited to finally have this step accomplished as it brings us closer to GFO release.

As you make the transition: It is possible that OC2 will show you a bunch of notifications related to any liveries you have installed at the time of update. We recommend that you simply pass through the update page by pressing DISMISS on each of them the first time, then close OC2 and relaunch the application. This will allow it to be all-caught-up in managing your liveries for you.

NOTAM for all windows 7 32 bit (and WinXP, etc.) users:

Do not install this update. If you do, it will disable the PMDG Operations Center 1.0. You cannot use the PMDG Operations Center 2.0 because it is a 64 bit program.

Effective March 1st, we will be turning off online support for PMDG Operations Center 1.0 so we recommend you take the time to upgrade your windows platform to Windows 10.

This notam is related only to Windows. It doesn't matter which sim you have, you have to be on a 64 bit Windows platform.

“The only thing I hope is that people are serious about bug reports and suggestions/feedback”

  • Reddit User

There are two important tasks the team is currently working on:

  1. ALPHA ACCESS – For those that have not received Alpha build access (press F to pay respects), we are actively working to increase the number of participants. Expect an updated timeline on 02.13.
  2. TARGETED TESTING – For those users that have received Alpha build access, next week we kickoff our Targeted Testing phase. In the Alpha section of our forums we will post weekly challenges for users to test specific areas/features and provide their feedback.

To date, the feedback we’ve received from both Tech Alpha and Alpha users has been incredibly valuable to the team. Every piece of feedback, every suggestion is another opportunity for us to improve the experience. So thank you, and keep it coming!

FEATURE DISCOVERY SERIES

  • EPISODE 6 IS COMING SOON!

We are putting the finishing touches on our next episode in the Feature Discovery Series! Episode 6 will provide an in-depth look at the airports we are building in the next generation of Microsoft Flight Simulator. You should expect an update on the official date for release in our next update (02.13).

DR PREVIEW MOVED TO 02.13

The DR preview is still in the process of being finalized and we expect to have it ready for Insiders to preview in our next update on 02.13.

FEEDBACK SNAPSHOT MOVED TO 02.13

We’ve been working hard to update the FS Snapshot to incorporate the early feedback from Alpha. Unfortunately, we had to bump this update back to 02.13 in order to ensure the most recent information was included.

UK2000 Scenery announces the release of UK2000 Luton 2020HD for Prepar3D and FSX (X-Plane version due March). We are continuing our remake of airports with the goal to increase texture resolutions and model details to take advantage of modern graphics card capabilities. New and updated airports will be aimed at the latest Prepar3D and X-Plane versions, but will continue to create FSX scenery for now (but may change)

Luton is the next product made with this new system that includes realistic and accurate ground markings, detailed photo-real models and textures, detailed airport vehicles and 'clutter', P3D v4 dynamic lighting, replacement runway and approach lighting system. The scenery is compatible with default, Generation-X, FTX Global, FTX England and Orbx True Earth.

The Prepar3D version is compatible with V2, V3 and V4.5 (PBR version). The installer takes care of which files to use for your particular sim. Priced at just £18.48, one price for all three major sim types.
