As you know Wizzsim has not been updated for a while.


Basically I am getting married which has caused a great deal of stress for both myself and my partner, lets just put it this way it can only happen to us everything that can go wrong has and when I mean everything I mean our wedding planner, our cake maker, the venue, our DJ have all let us down, half the guest's cant come even though we gave a year in advanced notice. We now have just over a month too fix and sort out our wedding from complete disaster. 


Getting Married is stressful enough but when everything goes wrong so near to the wedding the stress is almost unbearable


Wizzsim will be updated in due cause but I wanted to explain why and now you know.

  • Just Flight 146 Professional X-Plane Update

    Busy but exciting times from the X-Plane camp - we're currently in the final stages of the development process for the 146 Professional X-Plane version and are aiming to have it released fairly soon. Our dev partners Thranda Design have done a splendid job on the coding side and as such we have updated the product specs on the website. Well worth a read to see the extensive feature list along with the very detailed description. You'll note that the base pack will now include eight variants as opposed to the originally planned three! Those anxious about which FMC will be included will be happy to learn that we're currently having a custom coded FMC developed by Javier Cortés (FJCC) for integration as soon as possible after release. The initial release will see the 146 come armed with the fully functional default FMC.   • Pilot's Announces Partnership With SWS To Develop Dash 7

    PILOT'S is proud to announce a partnership with SWS for the development of the PILOT'S Dash 7 turboprop regional airliner for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The Dash 7 is a four-engined turboprop passenger aircraft known for its legendary STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) performance and ruggedness. SWS will be creating and developing the aircraft's 3D model, animations, systems and flight dynamics with the intention of producing an authentic and realistically handling representation of the venerable Dash 7, while at the same time being accessible to new simmers. PILOT'S and SWS are very excited to help bring this aircraft into Microsoft Flight Simulator and we hope that you are as well!   • Photosim Labs Previews St. Croix for MSFS

    Photosim Labs is working on St. Croix Virgin Islands for MSFS 2020 and has released a few new screen shots. Next week, they will unveil the first screenshots of two development areas that they are already working on. St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands. Two more pictures of our team's work developing this great scenery for MSFS. Just did a beautiful approach on a transatlantic flight on Norwegian. Next up, a 747 Cargolux arrival from Atlanta, then a charter private jet departure from our friends hangar at Bohlke International. Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (IATA: STX, ICAO: TISX, FAA LID: STX) is a public airport located six miles (10 km) southwest of Christiansted on the island of St. Croix in the United States Virgin Islands. The airport is named after Henry E. Rohlsen, a St. Croix native who was one of the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II. It is a small international airport that hosts mainly inter-Caribbean flights. The airport, which was a hub for Aero Virgin Islands in the 1970s and 1980s, has the capability to receive jets up to the size of the Boeing 747s.   • AuthentiKit Spitfire Chassis Lever Released

    AuthentiKit is delighted to announce the release of the Spitfire chassis (or landing gear) lever. It has been a long time coming as a very functional version was being tested way back in May 2021. This control is so much the better though for the time and refinements that have happened since. Firstly the introduction of our new hydraulic damping technology has taken the tactile experience to a new level and is of course so very appropriate considering that the whole undercarriage is powered by hydraulics. Secondly, an almost disproportionate amount of development time went into the creation of an accurate hydraulic status indicator.   A Journey Concludes The first Spitfire flight control, the spade grip flight stick, was released on December 5th, 2020. In many ways this new chassis lever control is the final piece of the jigsaw as we now have a comprehensive set of the primary controls for a Spitfire pilot. Spade grip flight stick with working brake lever and dual cannon/machine gun button Throttle quadrant with bomb drop button Elevator trim wheel which can be calibrated for precise synchronisation with your sim Rudder trim wheel Flaps lever Chassis lever This is not to say that we are at the end of the line for Spitfire controls. The Spitfire Mk1A for example has a radiator lever and the Universal Hub has been designed with an input for this. For the Spitfire MkIX, which has no such lever, this input may get used for a fuel selector or coil boost/start buttons. Also, once the Universal Hub is upgraded to version 2 then many other inputs become possible. The Plan For 2022 The plan for 2022 is to mobilise the freeware developer community by publishing a series of SDKs which will make it very simple to build a wide range of replica controls by reusing the components which have been developed so far for levers/switches etc. This should hugely increase the rate of development of AuthentiKit controls. Magnetos, radios, multi-position flaps levers, trims of all sorts and many many more controls are coming your way soon and for a wide range of aircraft. Source

Please note that the MSFS version is still in development. Isle of Man Airport is the main civilian airport on the Isle of Man. It is located in the south of the island at Ronaldsway near Castletown, 6 nautical miles southwest of Douglas, the island's capital. Along with the Isle of Man Sea Terminal, it is one of the two main gateways to the island. Source

    Here's another Development Update and the latest screen shots for our 146 Professional for MSFS. These show the 146's extensive cockpit lighting options which are fully-functional in MSFS - dimmable and independent Captain and First Officer instrument and flood lighting, hundreds of annunciators (which all work like the real thing), dome and emergency lighting, pilot lap and flight kit spotlights and more. This huge array of options provides you with the means to tailor the cockpit lighting to your exact requirements for each stage of the flight. The exterior lighting is also nearly complete, with realistic landing, taxi, turn-off, navigation (with high or low intensity options), strobe, wing, logo and cabin lights for a highly immersive night flying experience.   • PMDG 777 Update and Beta News

    I hope all of you had a nice holiday season and that your 2021 is shaping up to be an improvement over what we have all experienced with 2020. I'm sure all of you are as tired as we are of being locked down, held in place, and unable to enjoy personal time with friends, family and neighbors. We remain optimistic that this too will pass and soon enough we will all be able to enjoy one anothers company again soon.   In the mean time, development work at PMDG continues apace. Even with the holidays we were hard at work on numerous projects in an effort to get some of the heavy-lift projects off of our agenda in order to free up manpower for other items on the agenda. I am happy to let you know that tonight's update will be less words and more graphics, for a change - as the last few have been walls of text to give you lots of information on multiple topics. Tonight I am focused entirely on the 777 for Prepar3D. PMDG 777-200LR/F And PMDG 777-300ER Product Updates This update cycle has been in discussion for some time and is nearly finished. To recap a few aspects of it that are important, we wanted to bring you the long awaited 777-200ER product (details below) but found that in order to do so, it would be important to update the core of the 777 product platform in order to bring it more into compliance with newer products such as the 747 and 737 product lines. 777 is nearly 8 years old and the code was becoming harder to keep up-to-snuff and it required a very significant overhaul that has taken a large investment of development manpower to complete. Market conditions created by covid, and the need to keep a significant amount of development resources dedicated to our upcoming line of MSFS products caused us to decide to conduct a massive, free update to the existing 777 rather than to do a full product rebuild and replacement with a new (and thus more expensive-to-users) v2.0. You probably know that we have a very advanced system of collecting, managing and monitoring service reports for all of our products and we have continued to track issues for the 777 product line going all the way back to the day of publication. We have been clearing up items in that system, adding features, cleaning up inefficiencies, modernizing aspects of it's operation and preparing the code to survive another 5+ years cleanly within the Prepar3D v4/v5 environments. We are planning a full virtual cockpit replacement and work on that is underway but will take half the year to accomplish. So this massive update is nearly finished- and we have just pushed another version to our beta teams for evaluation. I expect a few more build cycles before we release the updates to you, because there are still a few more items we want to clean up before turning the product over to you. PMDG 777-200ER Expansion Package In even more exciting news for the 777 product line, our long awaited version of the 777-200ER airplane is moving into beta testing this weekend and we anticipate providing it to our beta team during the day on Saturday. The 777-200ER is easily one of the most asked-for expansions and we have struggled to find the right time to insert it into our development agenda. Given that our teams are siphoned off to work significantly on our MSFS projects, it seemed a natural fit to dedicate time to this much loved airplane type at long last. The PW Powered ER: This package includes the 777-200ER with Rolls Royce, General Electric and Pratt & Whitney engine types. Each engine type comes with it's own customized engine model, accurately modeled engine instrumentation on the flight deck, accurate engine behaviors and of course a custom suite for each. Along with the 200ER, we enable in the flight deck a fully functional EFB that is available to you in all of the 777 models (777-200ER/LR/F and 777-300ER). For all of us on the PMDG team, working on the 200ER has thoroughly reinvigorated our love of this, one of the most robust and magnificent airliners fielded by Boeing- and it has truly been fun to take a deep dive back into this fleet type in order to bring it up to date with our 737 and 747 product lines in order to field this new variant for you. The Roller Powered ER: Speaking of things to love about the 777: In this image of the Roller-Powered 777, the image was taken just as the left landing gear was beginning to lose contact with the runway. I often wonder how many of you take the time to really examine just how detailed our ground-relationship is with the 777 and 747 airplanes. We put a huge amount of work into developing the physics models for the landing gear and their contact with the ground. If you look at the 777-300ER, you will find that we fully modeled the cantilevered gear that helps to give the tail of the airplane an additional 18" of ground clearance during rotation. (The 747 has a bunch of it's own animation beauty that you only see on PMDG models- so go take a look! There is some fun stuff going on down there!) The GE Powered 200ER: Looking forward, we are sort of feeling our way toward a release for this product line that appears to be around the end of January. If it needs more time in testing, then it will be in February, or however else long it takes. Right now we are planning to push the product updates to you prior to the 200ER variant, but we might collapse those on top of one another and do them simultaneously if that seems like a smarter way to handle the release once we see how things go. Either way- we are nearly finished and we can't wait to roll these out to you. Okay, that is all I have for you tonight.
